Our roles

There are many different roles available at Calgary Co-op, we can’t wait to see where you fit in.

The Store Manager is at the heart of leading & managing a successful overall operation of their Co-op Wine Spirits Beer location. Developing and maintaining a knowledgeable, highly motivated, positive and passionate workforce that provides exceptional customer service, leading program execution and contributing to overall company profitability.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, the Store Manager is also responsible for the management of the team’s image and standards, implementation and adherence to company programs, policies and procedures, as well as scheduling, appraisals, budgeting and attainment of financial results.

The Liquor Store Supervisor provides support to the Store Manager, leading the team in the development of effective sales strategies while emphasizing exceptional customer service. The Supervisor leads by example and motivates team members to continuously rise to their individual potential. In addition, this role provides support and feedback to the Store Manager to maximize store sales potential. Assists in meeting store budget objectives, ordering and receiving, store inventory, merchandizing and team performance feedback.

The Liquor Store Clerk/Cashier provides front line customer service and maintains exceptional customer relations as part of a sales floor team. On top of operating the checkout, the Clerk maintains store appearance and cleanliness including neat and attractive product presentation.

The Sommelier Coordinator works with a diverse group of Co-op Wine Spirits Beer team members in order to drive wine sales, build customer loyalty and provide team member training and development. They work to promote the distinct competitive advantage of the Calgary Co-op Wine Spirits Beer brand.

In addition to providing education on wine, the Sommelier Coordinator curates the Calgary Co-op Wine Spirits Beer selection, assists in the selling and distribution of our personal wine locker program, interacts directly with customers to provide advice and create strong relationships with loyal patrons.
