It’s Italy versus Spain! This evening we pit each country’s most noble grape against each other: will you be able to taste the difference? Sangiovese is of course the undisputed king of grapes in Italy - the most important commercial grape and one that is revered amongst the country’s winemakers. It offers racy acidity, vibrant cherry notes and ageability that’s not found in many other wines. Tempranillo, meanwhile, is hands down the most important Spanish grape and it’s central to the identity of the country’s red wines. Tempranillo is intense, elegant, and loaded with juicy acidity and can also age gracefully.  Which wine will reign supreme?
