From their award-winning Project 9 Pilsner to their popular What the Huck, huckleberry wheat ale, Fernie Brewing Company (FBC) prides themselves on having a beer for every taste.
Located in the Rocky Mountain town of Fernie, British Columba, the family-owned craft brewery finds expression in small batch beers, unique flavours and natural ingredients, such as rocky mountain water, barley, malt, hops and yeast.
“Over the past 14 years, we’ve developed an award-winning, popular lineup of year-round products, as well as new and exciting seasonal brews,” says Abi Moore, Brand Manager at Fernie Brewing. “Our Head Brewer, Jeff Demaniuk, truly believes we have a beer for every taste.”
FBC uses premium two-row barley malt and European hops for all their beer and does not use fillers, adjuncts or preservatives.
“We have many seasonal beers that cater to the undecided and experimental craft beer drinkers, like our Fresh Hop Pale Ale, Black Mammoth Winter Ale or Pumpkin Head Brown Ale, which is new this fall.”
The brewery also has a rotating IPA series that sees the arrival of a new IPA every second month. In addition to B.C., FBC distributes throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
“We really value our nearby Alberta market,” Ali says. “Being just 40 minutes from the Alberta border and a popular year-round destination for many Albertans, Fernie Brewing Company feels a close affinity with both B.C. and Alberta.”
Being a local business, Ali says it’s important to give back to the community that has supported them for so many years.
“Fernie Brewing feels so fortunate to do business in here, so we wanted to find a way to say thank you to the community we love so much. Currently, all profits from our Flights of 4 sold in our Tasting Room, are donated to a local charity or organization. It’s our “Cheers to Charity” program that has raised over $66,000 for local charities, clubs and organizations since its inception in 2013.”
Fernie Brewing Co. is located just off Hwy 3, two minutes east of Fernie B.C. To find out more about their dozens of unique brews, visit their website.
