By accessing calgarycoop.com and/or the websites of its wholly-owned subsidiary co-operatives (such as Calgary Co-op Home Health Care Limited), the user agrees to the terms and conditions set out below. Calgary Co-operative Association Limited ("Calgary Co-op") has a firm and ongoing commitment to protecting your privacy.

Calgary Co-op is a member of Federated Co-operatives Limited (“FCL”) and will from time to time disclose your personal information to FCL to allow it to process your personal information for research and marketing purposes.  FCL may need to disclose your personal information to third parties with whom it has contract agreements in place for the purposes of managing your personal information such as data collection and processing companies.  Calgary Co-op provides FCL with only that information which is necessary to perform the required services.  Other than the disclosure of your personal information to FCL for the aforementioned purposes, Calgary Co-op will not disclose your personal information to any organization without your consent, except where permitted or required by law.

Calgary Co-op will not sell, lease, rent or give any information about any visitor to this website to any third party, other than companies contracted to provide services directly to Calgary Co-op such as for data collection and data analysis. Calgary Co-op is committed to maintaining your personal information in strict confidence and will enter into legal contracts with any third party providing data collection or data analysis services to ensure that your information is treated with the same level of confidentiality as it is by Calgary Co-op.

Personal Information

Calgary Co-op does not automatically collect any information that could be used to identify you as an individual from your use of our website. Information such as your name, phone number or email address is only obtained if you voluntarily supply it. Whenever you send email through the Calgary Co-op website or the websites of its subsidiary co-operatives or request a response via email you are providing us with personal information in the form of your personal email address. This information will be used to respond to your inquiries and may be stored for future correspondence. Your email address will not be sold, leased or rented to any organization or individual. It is important that when corresponding with Calgary Co-op or its subsidiary co- operatives via email you do not include any confidential information. Calgary Co-op does not encourage anyone to send personal information to us using unencrypted email. If personal information is sent to us through unencrypted email, Calgary Co-op assumes no liability should this information become public through no fault of Calgary Co-op.

Non-Identifiable Information

When you visit the websites of Calgary Co-op or its subsidiary co-operatives we may automatically collect non-identifiable information such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer used to contact our website. As you move within our website we may collect information such as which pages were visited and what page content was downloaded. Collection of this information does not result in you being identified as an individual, but is used to collect statistical data on items such as the number of people visiting the website and how often specific web pages are visited. This allows us to continually develop our website to meet the needs of our visitors. No specific information about your particular actions on these websites will be retained.

You can check your personal information to verify, update and correct it, to have any obsolete information removed or ask that it be removed from our databases. Please put your request in writing to the Calgary Co-op Privacy Officer at head office. The request should include a reference to your Calgary Co-op member number, if applicable.

The open nature of the Internet is such that information may flow over networks without security measures and may be accessed by people other than those for whom the data is intended. Although Calgary Co-op has implemented industry standard security precautions any information transmitted to us over the Internet cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the security of the information you transmit to us over the Internet and you do so at you own risk.

Calgary Co-op also provides links to non-Calgary Co-op sites we believer may be of interest to you. These sites are provided as a convenience and are beyond our control. You are advised to check the privacy policies of those sites before providing your personal information to them.
