The Sunday Cosmo is high ball version of the Cosmopolitan cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz CO-OP Vodka
  • 1 ½ oz Cointreau (or Triple Sec)
  • ¼ oz cranberry juice
  • ¼ oz lemon juice, fresh
  • 3 - 5 oz sparking watermelon water
  • Garnish:
  • 1 watermelon cube 1”x1”
  • 1 lemon wheel

How to Make It

1.

Fill a shaker with ice.

2.

Pour CO-OP Vodka, Cointreau (or Triple Sec), fresh lemon juice and cranberry juice into shaker.

3.

Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold.

4.

Fill a highball glass with ice.

5.

Place the watermelon cube inside the glass.

6.

Strain the shaker into the glass, ensuring to cover the watermelon cube.

7.

Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling watermelon water.

8.

Stir gently and garnish the glass with a lemon wheel.

The Legend: A bartender from Minneapolis named Neal Murray claims credit for the Cosmopolitan while he was working at the Cork & Cleaver in 1975. He added a splash of cranberry juice to a Kamikaze and the first taster replied with “How cosmopolitan”.
