White wines are not just for warm patio weather or for pairing with white meats. Here are some rich, complex and almost cozy whites that can stand up to winter sipping and carry us thorough all seasons:
• Rhone Valley blends are often a combination of Roussanne, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc. We are fans of the Chapoutier wines from the Southern Rhone including M.Chapoutier Bila-Haut Blanc.
• Australia also makes some amazing white blends and The Hermit Crab from d’Arenberg is a fantastic wine to pair with grilled vegetables.
• Napa Valley classic Freemark Abbey Charddonay has layers of warm apple, butterscotch and lemon curd and is a delicious compliment to béarnaise sauce and even buttered popcorn.
