Effective October 1 - 31, 2022

October Discovery packs:

Mixed Wine Bag - $94.99 (Save $45.25)

Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina - Italy

Italy and Pinot Grigio have basically become synonymous, however, Italy is home to somewhere in the neighbourhood of 3,000 indigenous grape varietals. Falanghina comes from southern Italy, where it thrives in the hot climate. Somehow retaining a high level of freshness and citrus notes in the heat.

Pair this wine with seafood, grilled vegetables and white meats.

Los Clop Paraje Cabernet Sauvignon - Argentina

Paraje translates as ‘place’ from Spanish. There’s a concept with wine called ‘terroir’, meaning the translation of a single location into the bottle of wine. Terroir speaks to the place, and this Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning example of what a perfect vineyard can do for a wine.

Pair this wine with a ribeye and potatoes.

LAN Crianza Rioja - Spain

Wines from the region of Rioja in Spain are often a great lateral move for wine lovers who drink Californian wines on a consistent basis. They are big, fruity, oaky and delicious. Frequently, Tempranillo is the main grape in the wine and it loves oak, and seeing that this wine is a Crianza, it will have seen a minimum of one year in a barrel.

Pair this wine with white meats, red meats, or pasta dishes.

Manos Negras Pinot Noir - Argentina

Pinot Noir is not the first thing you think of when you think of Argentine wine, that honour usually goes to Malbec. In the far south of Argentina, in Patagonia, winemakers are making huge strides with Pinot Noir. This is elegant, red fruit forward with low tannins and a light body. Don’t be fooled though, it’s full flavoured even if those flavours are delicate.

Pair this wine with gamey meats, white meats and white fish dishes.

Galante Appasimento Bianco – Italy

Appasimento is an Italian method of drying grapes before vinification to concentrate flavours, and Galante uses this method to make their delicious Bianco that is bursting with peach, honey suckles, racy lemon zest and just a touch of butter. Medium body, smooth as silk and dry to the bone.

Pair this wine with buttery shellfish, matured cheese and pork.

Castorani Cadetto Montepulciano d’Abruzzo – Italy

From the rolling hills of the Abruzzo region of central Italy this wine is made from the stated Montepulciano grape. This wine offers plush tannins, a medium body and a loaded bramble of black and red cherries all wrapped in decadent chocolate, leather and oak notes.

Pair this wine with tomato-based sauces, pasta dishes and white meats.

Red Wine Bag - $89.99 (Save $50.95)

Chateau Ste. Michelle Syrah - USA

Washington State is quickly becoming a hot spot for red wines based on the Syrah grape. Chateau Ste. Michelle is no exception, making a striking wine that is loaded with red and black fruit flavours, with a black pepper note and savory character that only becomes more pronounced over time. This is a crowd pleasing red that will pair well with any day ending in Y.

Pair this wine with BBQ-sauced wings, smoked brisket and your favourite cut of red meat.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz - Australia

Coonawarra has become a region synonymous with quality Cabernet Sauvignon, but some of the bold reds made from Shiraz are also truly outstanding. Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz is loaded with silky-black fruit, pepper and a herbal-eucalyptus aroma that leaps from the glass.

Pair this wine with dark chocolate, red meats and potatoes.

1884 Reservado Malbec - Argentina

Malbec is still one of the most popular wines in the Alberta market, and it’s really easy to see why. It’s big, bold and juicy. Loaded with flavours of blackberries, violets, cedar, black pepper and baking spices.

Pair this wine with grilled-red meats and root vegetables.

White Wine Bag - $79.99 (Save $42.45)

Galante Appasimento Bianco – Italy

Appasimento is an Italian method of drying grapes before vinification to concentrate flavours, and Galante uses this method to make their delicious Bianco that is bursting with peach, honey suckles, racy lemon zest and just a touch of butter. Medium body, smooth as silk and dry to the bone.

Pair this wine with buttery shellfish, matured cheese and pork.

Trapiche Reserve Chardonnay – Argentina

A Chardonnay for all the real Chardonnay lovers. Full bodied and creamy with fresh fruit notes of lemon, peach, yellow apple and pear. Deeper oak influenced notes of vanilla, cedar and caramel help add depth, flavour and some real umph to this wine.

Pair this wine with pork, rich pasta dishes and any form of potato.

Counterpoint Pinot Grigio - Australia

Peaches, pears, apples and all the other tree fruits are prominent on the nose of this medium body Pinot Grigio. A final note of zippy citrus and refreshing acid leaves this wine fresh and vibrant.

Pair this wine with pork, chicken and hard chesse.

Skyfall Rosé Columbia Valley - USA

This aromatic blend has loads of flavours of red fruit and white fruit from the blend of diverse grapes that go into the bottle. Notes of peach, pear, strawberry and cranberry dance with a light minerality and tart acid.

Pair this wine with pork, fruit platters and a hot patio.

Old Soul Chardonnay - USA

California is definitely one of the first places that comes to mind when you say Chardonnay, and for good reason. The wines are bold and structured. The Old Soul Chardonnay is loaded with tropical fruit flavours, a hint of oak and a long finish.

Pair this wine with seafood dishes and grilled white meats.

Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina - Italy

Italy and Pinot Grigio have basically become synonymous, however, Italy is home to somewhere in the neighbourhood of 3,000 indigenous grape varietals.
