Bolla Amarone della Valpolicella

At this point, deep into winter our palates have change from light patio sippers to wines that have some substance and body, perfect for pairing with the savory seasonal foods.
A go to for me is an Amarone. A well known wine style to many for its heavy velvet texture and warm, comforting appeal. It has the structure and body that pairs well with stews, Sunday roast beef and the rich dishes of the season.
Hailing from a northern region in Italy called Valpolicella where this style of wine is king. Amaro translates to bitter, so this wine by its name is dry in style. It is rich and has flavors of black cherry and spice with a hint of coco on the finish. It is sure to be a fan favorite and will age well so pick up a few to get you through any winter occasion!
