June Discovery packs:

Mixed Wine Bag - $94.99 (Save $44.05)

Counterpoint Pinot Grigio – Australia

Peaches, pears, apples and all the other tree fruits are prominent on the nose of this medium-body Pinot Grigio. A final note of zippy citrus and refreshing acid leaves this wine fresh and vibrant.

Pair this wine with pork, chicken and hard cheese.

Gancia Brut Rosé – Italy

Crisp, refreshing, and just the right amount of bubbles. This pleasant little sparkling offers a vibrant palate of rose water, cherry, strawberry, citrus and a touch of peach. The fruit driven palate is juicy but the strong-acid backbone keeps it smooth and dry.

Pair this wine with chocolate dipped strawberries, summer salads and grilled chicken.

Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz – Australia

Coonawarra has become a region synonymous with quality Cabernet Sauvignon, but some of the bold reds made from Shiraz are also truly outstanding. Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz is loaded with silky-black fruit, pepper and an herbal-eucalyptus aroma that leaps from the glass.

Pair this wine with dark chocolate, red meats and potatoes.

Social Collection Bin 110 Merlot – USA

Merlot is the ultimate crowd pleasing red. It is medium to full-bodied with red and black-fruit flavours such as plum, red currant, blackcurrant and black cherry. The Social Collection Bin 110 Merlot is soft and silky on the palate, with soft round tannins and a fruit-forward finish.

Pair this wine with chicken, hamburgers and fried pork belly.

Château Preuillac Médoc (Cru Bourgeois) – France

Located in the Médoc in Bordeaux just north of the famous appellation of St. Estèphe, this delicious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc is a red that almost anyone can get behind. It is from the 2012 vintage and is drinking beautifully right now, with flavours and aromas of dried red and black fruit, vanilla, baking spice and cedar.

Pair this wine with rustic stews, root vegetables and aged-sharp cheese.

Château Ste. Michelle Syrah – USA

Washington State is quickly becoming a hot spot for red wines based on the Syrah grape. Château Ste. Michelle is no exception, making a striking wine that is loaded with red and black-fruit flavours, with a black-pepper note and savoury character that only becomes more pronounced over time. This is a crowd pleasing red that will pair well with any day ending in ‘Y’.

Pair this wine with BBQ-sauced wings, smoked brisket and your favourite cut of red meat.

Altamira VAV Malbec – Argentina

Malbec is arguably the king of Argentina’s wine grapes, producing a full-bodied wine with deep-dark characteristics. The VAV (Viñedos Altamira Valley) Malbec is no acception to this grape’s powerful reputation, bursting with blackberry bramble, black cherry and plum on the fruity palate. The subtle notes of tobacco, leather and wet earth add pleasant complexity.

Pair this wine with tomato-based pasta sauces, beef and every cheese you can name.

Alpha Zeta Chardonnay - Italy

Produced in the cool northern region of Veneto in Italy, this Chardonnay showcases fresh-zesty fruit such as lemon, green apple, melon and crème fraîche. A portion of the juice was fermented in oak, and part through malolactic fermentation in order to add complexity and texture.

Pair this wine with roast chicken and a no fuss snack such as popcorn.

Columbia Crest H3 Chardonnay - USA

The grapes used to produce the H3 series are an area famous for producing concentrated, well balanced and food friendly wines. Fermented in stainless steel, this Chardonnay reveals a pure expression of the varietal with crisp apple, lemon and tart pineapple.

Pair this wine with aged cheese, fish and shellfish with a spritz of lemon.

Mezzomondo Pinot Grigio Chardonnay – Italy

When the sun is shining and the patio is open, refreshing whites are the star of the show. This little blend from Italy is the perfect example, full of green apple and pear notes all delicately swaddle in the complex flavours of brioche and wet stone.

Pair this wine with grilled chicken, creamy risotto and root vegetables.

Counterpoint Pinot Grigio – Australia

Peaches, pears, apples and all the other tree fruits are prominent on the nose of this medium-body Pinot Grigio. A final note of zippy citrus and refreshing acid leaves this wine fresh and vibrant.
