October Discovery packs:

90 Point Mixed  Wine Bag

Only $76.99, a savings of at least $40.55

Chateau Cap Saint Martin 2015 – 91 Points Wine Enthusiast

This wine is rich, spicy and full of black fruit. With solid tannins alongside its juicy black currant flavours, it’s firm and will age well. Its density and richness are developing and will be best from 2020.

Enjoy this wine with grilled meats such as lamb or beef

Manos Negras Stone Soil Malbec 2015 – 92 Points Robert Parker

Sourced from the same vineyards in Altamira as for the regular malbec, there is more texture in the mouthfeel with a slightly drying, austere sensation here. The chalky tannins stick to your teeth and at the same time provide a sapid sensation and a long tasty finish.

Enjoy this wine with lamb and beef

Mengova Brezo Mencia 2016 – 91+ Points Robert Parker

Floral, a little heady, expressive and intoxicating, with notes reminiscent of malted cereals, decayed violets, earth and spices. The palate is juicy with a soft approachable texture, very nice balance and freshness and a tasty finish.

Enjoy this wine with charcuterie or spicy sausage

Fontella Chianti 2015 – 90 Points James Suckling

A juicy fruit forward blend of mainly sangiovese with a touch of canaiolo, it’s bursting with aromas and flavours of ripe cherries and raspberries with subtle floral notes and a touch of spice. Dry and medium in body. Great tannic structure, balanced acidity and a smooth finish.

Enjoy this wine with a plate of traditional spaghetti all bolognese

Torres Vina Esmeralda 2016 - 90 Points Decanter Magazine

An old favorite, consistently good and ideal for when the sun shines. Terrifically grapey muscatel with a dash of blowsy gewürztraminer, fresh and delicate in alcohol.

Enjoy this wine with Asian dishes with coconut and spice.

Chateau St. Jean Chardonnay 2016 – 90 Points Wine Enthusiast

Spicy and oaky in a delicious measured way, this full bodied and nicely balanced wine backs up the toast, butter and bread dough aromas with generous ripe apple, pear and toasted almond flavors for a complex and complete picture.

Enjoy this wine with crab, prawns and lobster

Finca Los Primos Malbec

Hints of vanilla complement ripe plum and violet aromas in a classic malbec bouquet.  Combining a rich, weighty mouthfeel with a soft silkiness and a pleasing fruit character.  The finish is persistent and aromatic.

Enjoy this wine with grilled beef or lamb

Mitolo The Nessus Shiraz

A sterling rich red with a dark fruit profile of blackberries and black olives, with gentle hints of white pepper spice.  The palate is awash with juicy flavours of cranberry and raspberry before hints of chocolate and soft tannins lead into a savoury, silky finish.

Oyster Bay Rose

Summer cherry and fragrant blossom notes with a burst of red berries and a lively citrus zest.

Kris Pinot Grigio

The nose recalls acacia flowers and the delicate scent of almonds.  This wine is clean and refreshing on the palate with hints of linden and honey with a dry, crisp finish.

Eric Southward

Fontanafredda Barbera Raimonda

Hello, my name is Eric, and I have an addiction… to Barbera! Grown the northwestern Italian region of Piedmont, Barbera has become of my go-to wines. It tends to be medium-bodied, with juicy acidity, and zippy flavours of fresh strawberry and red cherries, and herbal notes that keep the wine from being simple, or one-note. And it is inexpensive! Barbera provides some of the best value amongst Italian red wines. It will match up nicely with almost anything on your kitchen table, and is incredibly crowd-pleasing. I love this stuff! Cheers.
